De uitbraak van het Corona virus heeft de hele wereld op scherp gezet. Het aantal besmettingen loopt enorm op en ook het dodental is iedere dag hoger. Tijd dus op uit te zoeken of jij gevaar loopt. Heb jij een pakketje uit China besteld, en ben je benieuwd of het Corona virus en AliExpress een verband hebben? Ik leg je hier uit waarom je je geen zorgen hoeft te maken.
AliExpress en Corona; hoe verspreidt het virus zich?
Zoals met veel virussen, verspreidt ook het Corona virus zich van dier op mens of van mens op mens. Om het virus over te dragen dient een persoon dus in (vrijwel) direct contact te staan met een ander. Bijvoorbeeld wanneer je recht in iemands gezicht hoest, of zoent. Dit zorgt ervoor dat je zo dichtbij een ander staat, dat het virus niet dood gaat terwijl het tijd buiten je lichaam doorbrengt.
Met AliExpress heb je vast weleens meegemaakt dat je pakketje er een maand of langer over doet. Zelfs als je een Express Service kiest, duurt het nog 7 dagen of langer voordat het pakketje er is. Meer dan genoeg om ieder virus te doden dat op het pakketje zit. Daarbij komt ook nog dat karton of plastic helemaal geen goede voedingsbodems zijn voor een virus om op te overleven.
De kans dat jij via een AliExpress pakketje Corona oploopt, is dus nagenoeg afwezig. Zelfs als jouw postbezorger in Nederland op het pakketje heeft geniest is het een paar uur later niet meer besmettelijk.
Mogelijk vertraagde levering
Zoals je misschien weet zijn grote delen van China in quarantaine geplaatst. Hoewel deze regio lang niet heel China omvat, kan het natuurlijk voorkomen dat de plekken waar de fabrieken staan ook in quarantaine worden geplaatst. Hetzelfde geldt voor transportbedrijven en vliegvelden of havens. De economie van veel grote Chinese steden vallen stil door de uitbraak van het Coronavirus, waardoor er mogelijk vertraging in je pakketje kan zitten.
Waar je aan moet denken? Geen idee, maar zodra jouw pakketje ergens bij een postkantoor ligt dat is afgesloten kan het natuurlijk zomaar enkele weken of zelf maanden duren voordat je pakketje aankomt. Dit zijn natuurlijk alleen maar inschattingen en we weten op dit moment nog niet genoeg van de eventuele gevolgen van het Coronavirus. Zodra wij weten of er vertraging ontstaat, laten we dat hier weten.
Update 10-02-2020
Er zijn tot nu toe meerdere mensen die hebben aangegeven dat hun pakketjes nog steeds niet verstuurd is. Hoogstwaarschijnlijk zijn dit nog de naweeën van een verlengde vakantieperiode voor de Chinezen. De overheid probeerde hiermee te zorgen dat meer mensen thuis zouden blijven en de ziekte minder snel verspreid zou worden.
Op 10 februari is bekend gemaakt dat diverse niet-Chinese bedrijven hun fabrieken in China weer mogen opstarten voor het maken van producten. Het het aantal besmettingen met het Coronavirus lijkt volgens de officiële cijfers ook te stabiliseren, waardoor de verwachting is dat we binnenkort weer binnen een normale termijn ons pakketje kunnen verwachten.
Conclusie
Heb je een pakketje op AliExpress besteld en is dat nu onderweg? Dan hoef je je geen zorgen te maken zodra je deurbel gaat. Ten eerste is de kans zeer klein dat iemand met die besmet is geweest met het Coronavirus in aanraking is gekomen met je product (China is een land met honderden miljoenen mensen waarvan slechts duizenden besmet zijn geraakt).
En zelfs al zou een zieke medewerker in je pakketje hebben gehoest, dan hoef je je met de levertijden van AliExpress alsnog totaal geen zorgen te maken. Ook kun je gewoon nog nieuwe bestellingen plaatsen, zonder bang te zijn dat je daarmee het Coronavirus in huis haalt. Een hele opluchting!
